The aim of Symposium, organised by the Croatian national committee of CIGRÉ from 5 to 7. November in Rovinj, was to enable the exchange of knowledge and experience acquired among system operators, manufacturers, market participants, market operators, consultants, academic and educational institutions, ministries and regulatory agencies. The Symposium was divided into two main topics: Advanced technologies and solutions for improvement of power system operation Security and Paradigm change of Power System and Electricity Market Development.

Within the first topic, the representatives of HOPS and ELES prepared a paper on the advanced function for optimization in transmission network for SINCRO.GRID project. They presented to the participants a system for coordinated regulation of the voltage and reactive power control within Virtual cross-border control centre that will be established within the project.
