This week we successfully tested sending regulating commands from the HOPS Volt Var Control function to HOPS substations, including autotransformers and variable shunt reactor.  The VVC function is achieved through the newly implemented parallel SCADA/EMS VVC system in HOPS. This is a first step and precondition towards implementing a joint HOPS and ELES VCBCC (Virtual Cross Border Control Center) system for maintaining voltage profile within a desired range and minimizing system losses by controlling the reactive power flow.
