This variable shunt reactor is one of four compensation devices integrated into the Slovenian electricity grid in the scope of phases 1 and 2 of the SINCRO.GRID project.

The partners in the project were transmission and distribution system operator from Slovenia and Croatia (ELES, SODO, HOPS, HEP ODS).
Having demonstrated its conformity with EU policies in the field of smart grids, the project was selected in 2016 for co-financing under the Connecting Europe Facility call.
