At the Austrian Embassy’s event on Wednesday, June 4, the director of Advantage Austria Ljubljana, Wilhelm Nest, ceremoniously presented the plaque of the national winner of the Energy Globe Award to the representative of ELES, Jernej Majcen, for the successful implementation of the SINCRO.GRID project and its contribution to the green energy transition.
The SINCRO.GRID project, which was carried out by a consortium of companies HOPS, SODO and HEP ODS under the leadership of ELES, is the first European project in the field of smart grids that has passed all stages - from inclusion on the list of projects of common European interest to co-financing from the Connecting Europe Facility to the implementation and integration of highly efficient devices, such as compensation devices, battery energy storage systems, a dynamic thermal rating system in the Slovenian and Croatian power grid. With their help, today we achieve the technical and economic benefits of regulation of voltage conditions in the network, optimisation of losses, improved control over the operation of the network and increased integration of renewable resources in Croatia and Slovenia. At the same time, we enable the largest markets in Europe to access renewable resources from SE Europe.
